Great Shoes –
I had to return the shoes and go for the EEE because I couldn’t even get my foot into the opening the E width. Zappos handled the return and re-shipment great. The shoes themselves look great and feel great. They appear to be very well made.

A Quality shoe –
Good fit and finish, hate to pay extra for the name, but sometimes it’s worth it. Hard to find a good leather sole penny loafer nowadays.
Far superior to the Bass Weejuns they make now.

This is a great shoe. More importantly to me, the buying experience was one of the best (if not THE best) I’ve ever had. I think I ordered late morning, but the shoes were at my door the next day. They fit great so I didn’t have to do any exchanging. I am extremely pleased with these shoes and with Zappos. I will definitely order in the future.

A Classic Perfected –

Narrow width fit perfectly –
I am a 14 B. Tough to find anything classy that looks great and isn’t over $200. These Pinch Pennies held up well and were super-comfortable. I hope C-H continues to make them year after year.

College shoes –
My freshman college son needed dress shoes for college events. He has a wide, “fat” foot. He has never been able to wear Bass Weejuns. Someone recommended Cole Haan’s wide width. I went to Zappos and typed in 12 wide and found just what I was looking for!! Thanks…and the free shipping was a plus. I knew I could mail back without a problem if the shoe didn’t fit.

A Bargain At Twice The Price!
I used to only be able to wear Bally 11EEE, but those are getting harder to find and the prices have gone out of sight! This is a really nice shoe for the money! If you require that generous fit of a Bally, and a little bit of arch support, this is the ticket for you. An incredible value.

A Lower Vamp would be better!!
I love Cole Haan shoes however in the past decade they have gone to a higher vamp. If anyone at Cole Haan is listening PLEASE make this style of penny loafer in a lower vamp! (That goes for all Cole Haan loafers.) There are still many of us guys that like that style of loafer.

Great shoe for those sort of dressy occasions –
I really love these penny loafers. I was trying to find a shoe that wasn’t as dressy as my oxfords but not as casual as sneakers.
I’ve found them to be really great for those occasions when the appropriate attire is unknown and I want to avoid appearing overdressed or under dressed.
Great to wear with almost anything from jeans to dress pants and with or without socks.
Great shopping experience with Zappos–as usual!

Outstanding Value, Fit, and Style –
My first order from Zappos.com, the Cole Haan Pinch Penny was a resounding success. I frequently order shoes online since I wear a size 15. My previous experiences have been plagued with long waits, out of stock items, and poor customer service… until I found Zappos.com. The ordering process was simple and straightforward with a confirmation email immediately following the sale. The price was competitive and the order was received NEXT DAY! Simply remarkable. The shoes were factory fresh, appearing as if they had just come off the line. The fit was what I expected, perhaps a fraction longer at the back, and the medium width felt like a generous medium for my E feet. I was glad I decided against a wider size. The penny slot is not sewn over so you can indeed place a coin there if you are into the tradition. I am a wedding DJ so I place a silver sixpence there and present it to the bride as a gift on her wedding day. “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, And A Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe.” The last line, often forgotten, is immediately recalled when the sixpence is presented (and my shoes noticed and complimented when I retrieve it!). Zappos.com has won a lifelong customer.

Great Shoe – stretches a bit –
Always have liked this shoe. Snug the first day and melted into my foot by the second. Felt a little wider by the time I broke them in. Not enough to size down however…

Overall, a nice shoe. Takes time to break the leather in. I noticed that the bottom of the shoes wear quickly. but i also tend to shuffle slightly when i walk. It is a good looking shoe.

Ordered my third pair of Cole Haan Pinch penny shoes. They are very good looking and well made. Zappos is an excellent company and I’m glad I found them. Their return policy and service is the best in the web based industry.

A low quality shoe. The color has rubbed off the toes and parts of the heels. I wore these primarily in my home, so it was disappointing. The soles wore out in 8-9 months and had to be repaired. Frankly, I expected this to happen. I’ve owned the same shoe style for 25+ years and they used to be okay way back when. They are truly junk, now, but they still look good at first and remain a style I like but can no longer continue to buy due to low quality.

Normally I don’t take the time to write reviews. But this time I felt inclined to share my experiences.
This was the 2nd pair of the same type of Cole Haan shoes (Pinch Penny in burgundy) I’ve ordered in the past 3 weeks from 2 different retailers. Dye was very splotchy over several areas on both shoes – each blotch was the size of a postage stamp (see pictures). Have worn Cole Hahn’s for over 20 years. The quality seems to be going down as the production was moved from the US to Mexico and now to India. I’m moving on to another brand of shoe. Not sure which brand but definitely NOT Cole Haan.
Do yourself a favor and move on to another brand as well.
